Precast lightweight reinforced concrete elements are factory cast structures that are poured in reusable formworks and are matured under controlled conditions for optimum hardening. They are them moved to the construction site and fitted into place. As opposed, concrete could be cast in place by pouring the concrete into specific formworks and curing it on site.
Structural concretes formulated with Laterlite Expanded Clay lightweight aggregates are used in the precast concrete industry because of the many advantages they offer to prefabricate RC elements.
