Screeds and substrates/subfloors are fundamental for levelling, regularising, and lifting a slab and making it suitable to receive a floor finish and/or for installing service runs.
Principal applications:
LIGHTWEIGHT SCREEDS
The Laterlite range of bagged premixed lightweight screeds can be used for high performance floating, bonded, and unbonded screeds without overloading existing floor slabs (of any type: concrete timber, or steel construction).
Latermix Forte, Facile and Fast bagged premixed lightweight screeds have a semi-dry “moist earth” consistency, are laid using traditional methods, and meet every requirement of the construction site. They are quick drying (Latermix Fast), can extend over large surface areas without requiring joints (Latermix Forte), and are suitable for external use (Latermix Fast and Latermix Facile). They all have a very high quality closed surface finish that is suitable to take any type of floor finish (ceramic, stone, wood, carpet, vinyl) and can be manually or mechanically smoothed (disc or helicopter). They also reduce the structural load by half (they weigh approximately 1000 kg/m3 laid and dried) as compared to alternative traditional or self-levelling screeds.
Latermix Cem Mini is semi-fluid and is the most versatile and lightweight of these screeds (weighing only 600 kg/m3), and gives the greatest load reduction.
All Laterlite screeds can be mixed by traditional means (in a cement mixer) or mixed and pumped in a pneumatic floor-screed conveyor machinery for easy transport to the required floor.
LIGHTWEIGHT SUBSTRATES / SUBFLOORS
For thicknesses of more than 10-12 cm, the screed solution should include a lightweight substrate /subfloor layer.
The Latermix Cem range of lconcretes can be used for subfloors that are strong and very lightweight (450 – 600 kg/m3) and contribute significantly to the thermal insulation of the slab.
Latermix Cem Classic and Maxi are pervious concretes based on expanded clay and are quick drying even in large thicknesses. Latermix Cem Mini (previously described) has a closed structure.
All Laterlite screeds can be mixed by traditional means (in a cement mixer) or mixed and pumped in a pneumatic floor-screed conveyor machinery for easy transport to the required floor.
SCREEDS AND SUBSTRATS WITH LIME BINDERS
To meet particular requirements, subfloors and fills can be made from lightened concretes based on natural hydraulic lime and Laterlite Plus hydrophobic expanded clay. The specific dosages have been developed in collaboration with CESA – Chaux et Enduits de Saint Astier.
ACOUSTIC MATS
The Laterlite product range also includes Calpestop anti-impact noise acoustic matting, which improves the acoustic performance of the screed system.
